E.H.Traders was honoured to participate in the monthly networking event Singapore Education Lounge organized by the Singapore Education Network, an alliance of more than 1,500 education professionals and organizations from Singapore and Asia. This month's event was hosted by the up-and-coming local social enterprise,

The Circular Classroom.

The talking point aligns with MYOP's objective of imparting knowledge to children as our programme promotes sustainability by using recyclable components in pencil making.

The event commenced with an opening presentation by the co-founder and director of The Circular Classroom, Mrs Leonie Nagarajan. She shared about the past projects of her organization on promoting sustainable consumption in schools, notably, the pilot project of repurposing pre-loved school uniforms through sewing and crafting into usable items such as tote bags, pillow covers, and purses.

The pilot project is well-supported by its pilot school, Changkat Primary School where the director herself is leading the school's Parents Support Group. 

With a mission to align with the government's Singapore Green Plan 2030, and an aspiration to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, The Circular Classroom is actively expanding the pilot project through community outreach. Currently, the social enterprise in collaboration with the Singapore Management University conducts workshops, and school uniform donation drives regularly.

 

Participating students, teachers, and volunteers from all walks of life in a common pursuit of the great green cause. With that, E.H. Traders expresses interest in extending partnerships to the respective social enterprises and education organizations.
